Day/Night Mode Behaviour

The main number of the company behaves differently depending on the Day/Night mode state at a given time. The state is changed manually by the user and is independent of any given time-date of any source (i.e. it does not switch automatically by time).

- Day Mode: During Day mode, incoming calls to main number are redirected to extensions that belong to the specified ring group. Unless setup differently, the call will be redirected to the company voicemail(VM) if unanswered by all the extensions of the ring group(s). The VM greeting of “Busy” is used in this case.

- Night Mode: Incoming calls to the main number are redirected to company VM immediately. The “Unavailable” greeting of the VM is announced.

Toggling the Day/Night Mode

Day/Night button on the deskphone toggles the office mode from Day to Night or Night to Day, depending on the current state. A voice announcement will indicate the new, active state.

The current state is indicated by the LED and label of the Day/Night button:

Green: Day mode is ON

Red: Night mode is ON

When Day/Night button is pressed, after toggling the office mode, the Company Voicemail is accessed to record or change the Day and Night mode greeting messages. If no changes are required to the Voicemail greetings , call could be hung up immediately as the office mode change is already carried out and indicated on the Day/Night mode button LED and label.

NOTE: The old label of the button was “Main #”. If your handset has the “Main #” button, please refer to it as “Day/Night” button.
