Main Number Setup

If your system is configured to be time based please see the instructions here.

The main number has 2 different modes;

  • Day
  • Night

When the system is in day mode, calls to your main number will ring a series of phones for 30 seconds, before going to voicemail if unanswered,

When the system is in night mode, calls to your main number will go straight to your night voicemail.

If you wish to have these destinations changed please contact Comvergence support.

Toggling Day / Night Mode

Pressing the “Main #” button from your handset will toggle between Day Mode & Night Mode. (Some setups may have this button called as “Day/Night” instead of “Main #')

A voice will announce the current mode and the key will change colour, red for night mode, green for day mode.

Note: Your button may be on the second page of your phone.

Company Voicemail

Voice messages left for Company Voicemail are automatically sent via e-mail as an attachment to the e-mail address provided during setup.

Once sent, the voice message recorded at the PBX is deleted. This also means that the Company Voicemail message inbox will always be empty and does not require checking via phone.

Company Voicemail has two types of greeting based on Day or Night mode. The greetings can be recorded by pressing the “Main #” button on the phone. This will toggle the operating mode (Day/Night) first and then will prompt to record the message which would be for the mode that is just activated.

After pressing the Main# button, below options are available for Day and Night messages following the voice menu:

Press 1 to record Day message to be played when an incoming call to the Company Number is not answered due to relevant extensions being busy or the call is not answered for the specified duration. It is also called the busy message.

Press 2 to record Night message to be played when an incoming call to the Company Number is directly routed to the Voicemail inbox as it is after hours. This is also called the unavailable message.

Press 3 to listen to your Day message.

Press 4 to listen to your Night message.

If your business has Additional Company Numbers

You may have been provided with instructions to access the Special Voicemail boxes for those company numbers.

Normally a Directory Entry will be set up to access the Voicemail for your company with an entry called ”PHONENUMBER Voicemail“ or ”COMPANY Voicemail“.
